Frederick Walter Murray, Jr. Obituary - 2022 - McCully (2024)

In loving memory of

Frederick Walter Murray, Jr.

Fred was a devoted and loving husband to Lisa (Bear); the son of the late Fred Sr. & Dawn (Frantz), brother of Chris, brother-in-law to Russell, father to David, Shelby, Travis, Courtney, Michael, Kelly, and Christopher grandfather/pop to 9 beautiful grandchildren and uncle to Anthony and Rebecca. He was a genuine, fun-loving man who cherished time with people he loved. Fred owned FW Murray Contracting, Inc. He had a passion for creating and building. It is no secret Fred was a life-long Baltimore Orioles fan who spent countless hours at each stadium relaxing and sharing stories with friends. His love of baseball and unique memorabilia allowed him to form many great friendships over the years. In addition to watching the O’s play ball, Fred loved to fish, go to the beach, sit by the firepit with friends, and travel. His love of collecting had him up early on the weekend for the occasional flea market. He enjoyed riding to Annapolis in his ’66 Mustang to park at “cars & coffee”. He and Lisa enjoyed going to the casino and the Sunset Restaurant for shrimp salad sandwiches. Fred worked hard and devoted his life to his wife and family making sure everyone was happy. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for anyone, even strangers. He was spontaneous and loved to travel to places he had never been or experience new adventures. He was charming, gentle, and loved life. Fred was ox strong with a heart as big as they come. He appreciated everything he had and knew what it took to “make things happen”. He was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (brain cancer) April 2021. This disease was never stronger than his spirit. Our memories of him will outlast his time of illness and fill our hearts with endless love, mischievous smiles, belly laughter, and the feel of his embrace or handshake. He would want you to remember how much he loved each of you and how important it is to share your love and time making the most of each day. We are proud to have been his family and will forever be grateful for being able to love him.
